Daniel Cormier (@dc_mma) and Anthony Johnson (@Anthony_Rumble) will meet in the octagon for a second time on April 8, 2017.
The UFC light heavyweight title will be on the line when the two fighters re-match in the main event of UFC 210 at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York.
Cormier won the first bout by submitting Johnson in the third round with a rear naked choke at UFC 187. Since winning the light heavyweight championship, Cormier has defended it once. He defeated Alexander Gustafsson (@AlexTheMauler) by split decision at UFC 192. Cormier last competed in a non title bout at UFC 200, where he defeated Anderson Silva (@SpiderAnderson) by decision.
Johnson has been on the warpath since coming up short in his first title bid. He has won his last three fights by knockout, with his most recent being a 13 second drumming of Glover Teixeira (@gloverteixeira). All three of those wins have earned him performance of the night.
The re-match between the two was originally set for December of 2016, but an injury to Cormier forced the bout to postponed until now.
Cormier and Johnson are very amicable outside of the octagon, so don’t expect much trash talk. These two like to do their taking in the octagon.
