Quinton “Rampage” Jackson (@Rampage4real) and Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal (@KingMoFH) will step into the Bellator cage against each other for a second time. The re-match was announced during Bellator 170.
The two originally fought at Bellator 120 in 2014. The bout was the final of the promotions light heavyweight tournament. After three rounds Jackson won a controversial split decision.
The two fighters squared off in the cage at Bellator 170 and the trash talk ensued. Lawal was adamant that he did not lose the first fight against Jackson, while Jackson dismissed his claims. This time around the bout will be at heavyweight.
Jackson will be riding a five fight win streak heading into his re-match against Lawal. He has not lost in four appearances for Bellator, with his latest being a split decision win over Satoshi Ishii (@SatoshiIshii) at Bellator 157 in June of 2016.
Lawal will be looking to rebound from a (T)KO loss to Mirko Filipovic this past December under the Rizin promotional banner in Japan. His last win for Bellator was also against Satoshi Ishii at Bellator 169 this past December.
The pre-fight hype for this one should be good as both fighters love to talk trash and neither man likes to back down. There were several noteworthy exchanges between the two fighters before their first fight. Some of the trash talk took place before they were even scheduled to fight each other. The build up should be great for ratings.
Currently the location for Bellator 175 is unknown but all of the action is scheduled to go down March 31, 2017 and will air live on Spike TV.
